Friary Shoes was founded in 1904 by Sydney Smith, a respected Lichfield Boot and Shoe maker. Today Friary Shoes is run by Sydney's great grandsons Simon and Adam Lumb. They now own 2 exciting modern outlets in Lichfield and Uttoxeter and employ approximately 50 members of staff.

Our Children’s department stock a large variety of Clark’s and Start-rite shoes. Fully trained staff ensure an excellent fit for every child, and for the older children we have a large selection of fashionable yet comfortable shoes for those long hours at school.

In our ladies department the choice is endless, with stocking over fifteen brands we can guarantee you will not be disappointed. For those who have trouble getting shoes to fit we stock brands for narrow feet as well as wide, with Equity, Elmdale and K’s accommodating E - EEEE fittings and Clarks styles at a D fit we are sure to find the right shoe for you. Whether it is a casual day time shoe or a smart shoe for the evening our friendly staff are more than happy to help.

Our Men’s department stocks over ten brands of shoes ranging from casual Sketcher’s to formal Barker’s. Again with its extra wide fitting shoes there is something for everyone. The Rieker and Hotter range offer light weight, feel good shoes for those who like to take it easy, with our Barker and Loakes being sturdy for business wear. Our helpful staff ensure we find the perfect shoe for you.
